Beginners are welcome at most all workshops, unless the workshop is specifically geared to advanced students (workshop description will indicate classes for advanced participants).  If you have your own copper or silver, please bring.  If not, these may be purchased at Thompson.  Bring your own enameling tools.  Extra tools may be available, if you do not have your own.  Any special tools needed to complete workshops will be provided by the instructor or Thompson Enamel, Inc.  Enamels will be provided by Thompson.  
 


Introduction to Dichroic Fused Jewelry - Beginners Welcome
Instructor:  Sandra Yavorcik

July 9 & 10, 2008, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Cost: $150 - includes all materials

Have fun in this two-day class!! Complete a cabachon, earrings and link bracelet. We will explore techniques on finishing your pieces. A demo will be done on how to wire-wrap your jewelry.

All tools and materials are supplied.  Participants are only expected to bring a brown bag lunch, an open mind, and a pair of eager hands.  There are fast food restaurants close by, if you prefer.

Introduction to Enameling - An Intensive Workshop for Beginners

Cost:  $65.00, which includes all materials

We will start with the basics and have you enameling within 15 minutes.  You will quickly move on to more advanced procedures and selected techniques.  By the end of the workshop, you should have a good idea as to what you wish to accomplish with enamel.

Glass on Glass Classes - Enameling and Kiln Forming Workshops
Instructor: Joseph Drury

Wednesday Evenings, 6:30-9:30 pm (by Appointment)
Saturday Afternoons, 2:00-5:00 pm (by Appointment)

Cost: $65 per session, $175 for three sessions. Discounts for groups of 3 or more (registering at the same time).

In these classes, you will learn to create from recycled and repurposed glass sources and special Thompson Enamels. Recycling 'glass into art' techniques will be taught by accomplished artist and sculptor Joseph Drury. While these techniques can be applied to enameling on any surface, the primary focus will be on learning how to apply enamels to glass for the creation of sculpture, jewelry, window hangings, bowl and plate forms. These workshops are suitable for all students beginning through advanced. Beginning students learn safety, proper ways to apply and fire the enamel. Each student produces at least one artwork per session!

All materials supplied for the workshops. Workshops are limited to only 12 students per session.

Workshop Open Time - Small Scale

Our new workshop is  available for open time use.  You supply your metal, we will supply a reasonable amount of enamel.  The charge is $5 per hour.  Hours are 9am to 4pm, Monday through Friday.  Saturdays and evenings by appointment.  Call ahead so we can turn the furnace on.


Workshop Open Time - Large Scale

This facility is available at $7.50 an hour.  Same hours and days as small scale.  Again, please call ahead so we can turn the furnace on.
